Since last months, I had bought a new pair of Random Access Memories (RAMs). I chose G.Skill brand for trying.
I bought G.Skill PI Series for 3,000 Baths from TKCom shop in Pantip Plaza, 1st floor. The model is F2-6400CL4D-4GBPI-B, which I want to try to overclock it. (O/C)
But, bad news is my motherboard is not supported for this model. While I bought, I just only looked at supported chipset list. I found that my Intel P965 chipset is one of a list. I thought that it could run with no problem on my machine. I guessed it wrongly again, ha ha ~ My motherboard is ASUS P5B, which is not supported by that model. But alternative model like ASUS P5B Deluxe is supported !! (It make me very upset)
RAM can run on my machine with only 667 MHz speed and CAS latency 5-5-5-15. In fact, this model run on 800 MHz and CAS latency 4-4-4-12. It?s a shame to me, so I?ve to try on a new motherboard and new chipset. I?ve to O/C it to become 800 MHz with CAS 5-5-5-15. I feel this RAM faster than previous one which is Corsair Value Select 667MHz 1GBx4. But I never test it with benchmark program yet. I can?t tell exactly how it is faster.
So, sorry for the testing result of RAM. I?ll review it on next time if I get a new motherboard.
